Welcome to my brand new site! Thanks for
tuning in! It's been 10 years since I had a CD
come out in the States and it is such a huge
Blessing. It is also an honor to be label mates
with the one and only Nancy Wilson on MCG Jazz.
WOW! The music business these days
is so unpredictably cold and heartbreaking
that any sign of folks listening and digging the
music is just grand!
I would like to share with you where the inspiration came from for the butterfly and the lovely dragonfly on my site. I was in Brazil this Spring playing with my band and special guest, Dori Caymmi. One day Dori took us to the Botanical Garden in Rio which was a very special treat for us. Dori and I share a deep passion for trees and plants and it was an adventure I will never forget. There is a huge, very old tree in the garden dedicated to Tom Jobim. He also loved nature and spent many hours in this magical garden.
Dori were walking ahead of me because I am usually lagging behind with my nose stuck in some flower or I am busy studying the backside of a leaf foreign to me. All of a sudden I saw the most beautiful butterfly! It was close to the size of a paperback book and it was the most unbelievable color of blue. I was speechless and was suddenly 6 years old in a fairy tale following this electric blue butterfly. I have not felt that alive in I don't know how long! Because of it's size it flew slowly, it's wings opening and revealing all it's beauty with every movement.
